After breakfast, embark on a walk down to Na Thac village—a Dao Ao Dai settlement with over 300 years of history. Visit a family-run tea processing facility where you'll learn about local daily life among residents who have settled on Con Linh's eastern slopes. In addition to cultivating rice on expansive terraced fields, they also grow various medicinal plants such as Tam That (Himalayan ginseng), Tieu (Cardamom), Khoai Nhung (Ardisia Sylvestris Pitard), and notably Snowshan tea (with "shan" meaning mountain).
This rare type of tea is cultivated at altitudes above 800 meters in Ha Giang province where it enjoys a cool climate year-round—an untouched natural environment that produces exceptional raw materials for specialty teas. The Snowshan varieties primarily include large-leafed and small-leafed types—often ancient trees hundreds of years old considered ancestors of modern tea plants—harboring many precious genetic traits.
It's safe to say that Ha Giang's Snowshan tea boasts a distinctive flavor profile along with high value due to its unique characteristics like thick snow cover on each bud; high tannin content; and mineral richness that keeps it vibrant green, sweet-tasting, and highly nutritious.
After touring the tea processing facility, we will ascend to the tea hills in Na Thac village; you’ll be captivated by its lush natural scenery year-round as you breathe in fresh air amidst Con Linh’s majestic backdrop.
After visiting the tea factory, we will climb the tea hill of Na Thac village, the beautiful, green and cool natural scenery all year round will admire your eyes. You will breathe fresh air amidst the majestic nature of Tay Con Linh mountains and forests.
At noon, we will pause at a local camp for lunch before engaging directly in traditional handcrafting methods for making tea—free from mechanical intervention—passed down through generations. They produce Snowshan tea through hands-on experience infused with genuine love for their cherished product tied closely to their homeland—a truly memorable experience awaits you here.
We will return to TVpalm ecolodge by 17:00 concluding our day-long trek. Unwind by the poolside before enjoying dinner and resting at TVpalm ecolodge.
